Math Lessons for Feb. 25th

Math Classes Monday:  The students will find the area of circles and of complex figures.  spi.7.4.5  The class will discuss the meaning of radius and diameter, and their importance in finding the area of circles.  The students will develop an understanding of splitting one figure to form to familiar figures, then finding the area of both.  spi.7.4.7Homework: pg.499( 4 and 5) 3rd period- The students will attend a seminar with the APEX teacher.Tuesday:  The students will review Geometry. Math Lessons for Feb. 19th

Math Lesson Plans and Enriched Plans for February 18th-22nd

Monday:  No School/ President’s Day!

Tuesday: 

Today, students will review for chapter 9.  Students will complete textbook page 402 numbers 1-42 all. After completion, students will be given the correct answers.
Homework:  TBA

Wednesday: TCAP Coach/Today, students will review skills on estimation.  Students are heavily focusing on estimation due to the last think link test.  This is an area of need for the students and will be stressed at least twice a week until the TCAP test is administered.
Homework: TBA

Thursday: The students will continue to review all concepts from Chapters 1-9.

Homework: None

Friday:  TCAP CoachToday, students will take a test over chapter 9.  After the test, students will continue to practice skills from TCAP Coach Book.

Math Lessons for Feb. 11th

All Math Classes 

Monday:  9-2 Tree Diagrams/ TCAP Coach Book (7.5.spi.6)Today, students will use tree diagrams to count outcomes and find probabilities.  Students will define:  fair game, tree diagram, and sample space.  Students will read the section and answer questions that go along with the reading.  Students will also complete Practice Skills 9-2.Homework:  Textbook page 585 Lesson 9-2; numbers 1-5 all.

Tuesday:  9-3 The Fundamental Counting Principle/ TCAP Coach Book (7.5.spi.6)Today, students will use multiplication to count outcomes.  Students will define: fundamental counting principal.  Students will complete Pre Activity sheet 9-3 and Practice Skills 9-3.Homework:  textbook page 380 numbers 9-15 odd.

Wednesday: 9-4 Permutations/TCAP Coach Book (7.5.spi.9)Today, students will find the number of permutations of a set of object.  Students will define:  permutation and factorial.  Students will complete 9-4 Pre Activity and 9-4 Practice Skills sheet.Homework: None

Thursday:  9-5 Combinations/ TCAP Coach (7.5.spi.6)Today, students will find the number of combinations of a set of objects.  Students will define: combination.  Students will work individually to complete pre activity 9-5 and Practice skills sheet.Homework:  textbook page 390 numbers 11-16 all.

Friday:  9-6 Theoretical and Experimental Probability/ TCAP Coach Book (7.5.spi.9)Today, students will find and compare experimental and theoretical probabilities. Students will complete pre- activity sheet and 9-6 Practice Skills sheet.Homework:  None/ Have a great weekend.

Math Lessons for Feb. 4th

Math(2nd,4th,5th)

 

Monday: The students will determine whether figures are similar and find a missing length in a

 

pair of similar figures.  The students will also classify polygons and determine which polygons

 

can form a tessellation. 7.3.spi.1  The class will discuss and complete pgs. 442 through 449

 

together.

 

Homework: None

 

Tuesday:  The students will identify the results of transformations of two-dimensional figures

 

7.3.spi.1  They will also identify the results of transformations of two-dimensional figures.

 

The class will complete the exercises on page 457.

 

Homework: pg. 458(7-15)

 

Wednesday: The students will review all of Chapter 10.  We will prepare for test on Thursday.
