Math Lessons for Sept.24 (2nd, 4th,5th)

Monday:  The students will review for Chapter 2 test.  The students will complete the Study Guide and Review on pgs.96-98, and complete a foldable for review of the test.

Homework:  Study for test

Tuesday:  The students will take a test over Chapter 2.

Homework: None

Wednesday: The class will discuss the Standardized Test Practice on pg. 100 and 101.  The students will then connect rational numbers to locations on the number line.7.1.spi.11  The class will discuss the Skill and Concept Check on pg.107.

Homework: pg. 108(23-28)

Thursday:  The students will then connect rational numbers to locations on the number line.7.1.spi.11  They will compare rational numbers using the appropriate symbol. 7.1.spi.4  The class will analyze the examples on pgs. 109 and 110.  The students will then complete the Skill and Concept Check on pg.110 with a partner.

Homework: pg. 111 (19-25)

Friday:  The students will use ordered pairs to describe given points in a coordinate system. 7.3.spi.5  The students will use the world map to locate points of interest.  The class will discuss examples on pgs. 112 and 113. 7.3.spi.5

Monday:  The students will attend a seminar with the APEX teacher.

Tuesday:  The students will identify prime and composite numbers up to 50. 7.1.spi.1  They will complete the Practice and Applications on pg.199  The students will then find the greatest common factor of two or more numbers, write fractions in simplet form, and represent numbers using a variety of equivalent forms. 7.1.spi.3  The students will complete the Mid-Chapter Practice Test with a partner.

Wednesday:  The students will represent numbers using a variety of equivalent forms.7.1.spi.3   The students will also find the least common multiple of two or more numbers, and compare rational numbers using the appropriate symbol. 7.1.spi.4

Math Lessons Sept.17th (2nd, 4th,5th)

Monday:  The students will construct and interpret stem and leaf plots.  The class will discuss stem and leaf plots and their use.  The students will complete several examples with a partner. 7.5.spi.7 

Homework: pg. 78(15-18)

Tuesday:  The students will review stem and leaf plots.  The students will then connect data sets and their graphical representation using box and whisker plots. 7.5.spi.7

Homework: pg.83(10-14)

Wednesday:  The students will connect data sets and their graphical representation with box and whisker plots, bar graphs, and histograms. 7.5.spi.7  The class will complete the Guided Practice on pg. 87.

Homework: pg.89 (Standardized Test Practice)

Thursday:  The students will interpret bar and line graphs to answer questions and solve real-world problems. 7.5.spi.1  The students will work with groups to complete the Study Guide and Review for the Chapter Test on Friday.

Monday:  The students will represent mathematical statements and real-world situations using symbols. 7.2.spi.5  The students will write verbal phrases and sentences as simple algebraic expressions and equations.

Wednesday: The students will find the slope of a line.   The students will take a practice test for Chapter 4.

Math Lesson Plans for September 10th

Math (2nd,4th,5th)

Monday:  The students will organize and interpret data in a frequency table. 7.5.spi.1  The class will discuss the value of frequency tables, and begin to create frequency tables with their partners. (2-1)  The students will complete the Skill and Concept Check on pg. 56.

Homework: pg.57 (13-14)

Tuesday:  The students wil continue to create frequency tables. The students will solve problems by using graphs and they will make predictions from graphs. 7.2.spi.10  The class will discuss the Guided Practice on pgs. 61 and 62.  The students will work together to complete the Practice and Applications on pg.62.(2-2)

Homework: pg.63 (Standardized Test Practice)

Wednesday:  The students will review making predictions from graphs.  The students will then construct and interpret line plots. spi.7.5.5

Homework: pg.67(19-22)

Thursday:  The students will determine the mean, median, and mode of a set of data. 7.5.spi.3  The students will review lessons 2-1 through 2-3.  Quiz on Friday.

Math Periods (2nd,4th 5th)

Tuesday:  The students will review The Metric System, and sequences.  The students will also write numbers greater than 100 in scientific notation.  7.4.spi.3  The students will complete the Skill and Concept Check on pg.44.  The students will then work in groups to complete the Study Guide and Review.

Homework:  pg. 45(45-50)

Wednesday:  The students will review for Chapter 1 test.

Homework:  Study for Test.

Thursday:  The students will take a test over Chapter 1.

Friday:  The students will work in groups to complete the Standardized Test Practice on pg. 50.  The students will then prepare for Chapter 2.

Math Lessons (3rd Period)

Thursday:  The students will determine the mean, median, and mode of a set of data. 7.5.spi.3  The students will work with a partner to complete the mini lab on pg. 69.  The students will also review all concepts of the week.

Friday:  The students will have a quiz on 2-1 through 2-4 in course 2 books.
