Mrs. Tucker’s Math Classes

Monday:  The class will go over the mid-chapter test that was taken on Friday.  The students will solve equations using mental math. 7.2.spi.5  The students will discuss and review the concept of equations and their importance.  The students will then solve equations.

Homework: pg. 26(29-35)

Tuesday: The students will use addition and multiplication properties to solve problems.  The students will create a foldable of the properties discussed in Chapter 1.

Homework:  pg.33(31-38)

Wednesday:  The students will discuss the properties and recognize and extend patterns for sequences. 7.2.spi.1  The students will complete the Skill and Concept Check on pg.35.

Homework:  pg.36(16-20)

Thursday:  The students will change metric units of length, capacity, and mass. 7.4.spi.3  The students will work with a partner to complete the Mini Lab on pg.38. 

Homework: pg. 40(31-35)

Friday:  The students will review sections 5 through 8 of Chapter 1.  The students wil then write numbers greater than 100 in scienticfic notation and in standard form.

Enriched Math

Monday:  The students will finish taking the test.

Tuesday:  The students will solve equations by using division and multiplication. spi.7.2.5 The students will also learn to write algebraic expressions and equations from verbal phrases and sentences.

Homework: pg. 29(29-33)

Wednesday:  The students will continue to write algebraic expressions and they will use addition and multiplication properties to solve problems. spi.7.2.5

Homework: pg.292(18-25)

Thursday:  The students will review algebraic expressions and properties.  The students will solve two-step equations and inequalities and review perimeter and area.  spi.7.3.5

Homework: pg.42(24-28)

Friday:  The students will  take a test over Chapter 1.

Monday:  The students will use powers and exponents.  7.1.tpi.10   The students will evaluate expressions using the order of operations. 7.1.spi.7  The class will complete the class examples on pgs. 14 and 15.

Homework:  pg.16(36-40)

 Tuesday:  The students will evaluate expressions using the order of operations. 7.1.spi.7  They will complete a worksheet on evaluating expressions using the order of operations.

Homework:  pg. 17(43-48)

Wednesday:  The students will evaluate simple algebraic expressions. 7.2.spi.6  The students will complet the Hands-On Mini Lab on pg.18 with a partner.  The class will complete the examples on pgs. 18 and 19.

Homework:  pg.20(26-33)

 Thursday:  The students will review all operations with decimals. 7.1.spi.3

Homework: pg.21 Standardized Test Practice and study for test

Friday:  The students will take a test over sections 1 through 4 of Chapter 1.

3rd Math Lessons

Monday:  The students will review the order of operations.  The students will learn to use powers and exponents in expressions, evaluate expressions and find solutions to equations.  7.1.spi.10

Homework:  pg.19(24-29)

Tuesday:  The students will graph integers on a number line and find absolute value.  The students will review operations with integers. The students will review powers, exponents and equations.  The students will begin to write expressions and equations from verbal phrases and sentences.  The students will complete the Practice Exercises on pg.29 with a partner.

Homework: pg.29(29-32)

Wednesday: The students will learn to solve two-step equations. The class will review and discuss examples on pgs. 33-35.  The students will complete the check for understanding on pg. 35

Homework:pg.36(35-38)

Thursday:  The students will learn to solve two-step equations with decimals and integers.  The students will reveiw for test on Friday.

Friday:  The students will take a test.
